Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if I need a trial lawyer or an appellate lawyer?
A trial lawyer handles the initial case — filing, evidence presentation, witness examination, and obtaining the first judgment. An appellate lawyer handles appeals against trial court decisions before High Courts or the Supreme Court. Many cases require both. Our advocates handle matters at both trial and appellate levels, providing continuity and strategic depth.
What is a quashing petition?
A quashing petition (under Section 482 CrPC / Section 528 BNSS) seeks to terminate criminal proceedings in the interest of justice. It is filed before the High Court and is used when criminal cases are frivolous, vexatious, or amount to an abuse of process. We file quashing petitions for clients facing baseless criminal complaints, particularly in cyber crime, matrimonial, and commercial dispute contexts.
Can LLM Advocates represent me in arbitration?
Yes. We represent clients in domestic arbitration proceedings under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, including appointment of arbitrators, conducting arbitral proceedings, enforcement of arbitral awards, and challenging awards under Section 34. We also advise on drafting effective arbitration clauses in commercial contracts.
