Frequently Asked Questions

Everything law students need to know about our Legal AI Analyst Internship.

The Legal AI Analyst Internship is a 4-week, fully remote programme where law students research AI governance frameworks, analyse cyber crime case law, review data privacy regulations under India's DPDP Act 2023, and contribute to policy drafts on responsible AI use. It is open to LLB, BA-LLB, and LLM students from any recognised Indian university.
Any student currently enrolled in an LLB (3-year or 5-year), BA-LLB (integrated), or LLM programme at a recognised Indian university can apply. You should have a genuine interest in artificial intelligence, cyber crime law, and digital policy. No prior work experience is required.
This is an unpaid, volunteer-based internship. However, interns receive a certificate of completion, a letter of recommendation (based on performance), mentorship from practising cyber law advocates, and portfolio-ready work samples that significantly strengthen law placement applications.
The internship runs for 4 weeks and is fully remote. You can participate from any city in India. All collaboration happens through email, shared documents, and scheduled video calls with your supervising advocate.
LLM Advocates selects 5 interns per month for the April, May, and June 2026 cohorts. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so early applications are encouraged.
You will gain hands-on experience in AI governance frameworks (EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, ISO 42001:2023), Indian cyber crime case law under the IT Act 2000, data privacy regulations including the DPDP Act 2023 and GDPR, and legal policy drafting for responsible AI deployment. You will also develop professional legal research and brief-writing skills.
Yes. All interns who successfully complete the 4-week programme receive an official Certificate of Completion from LLM Advocates. Outstanding performers also receive a personalised Letter of Recommendation signed by the firm's principal advocates.
Submit your application through the Apply Now button on the internship card above. You will need to provide your full name, university name, current year of study, a brief statement of interest (200–300 words) explaining why you want to intern with LLM Advocates, and your CV/resume.
Absolutely. Final-year LLM students are especially encouraged to apply, particularly those specialising in cyber law, IPR, technology law, or constitutional law. The internship provides excellent exposure to emerging legal-tech practice areas that complement postgraduate research.
Unlike traditional law firm internships, the LLM Advocates programme focuses exclusively on frontier legal-tech areas: AI governance, cyber crime law, and data privacy. You work directly under ISO 42001:2023 certified Lead Auditors who are also practising advocates at the Punjab & Haryana High Court. The work you produce — policy papers, legal briefs, regulatory analyses — becomes part of your professional portfolio.
